Job Summary
ACI Mechanical is seeking a Service Technician to join our team. This role includes but is not limited to the performance of quality service work as it relates to service in general, special projects, and all additional duties as requested by the job supervisor.
Duties
- Have the technical expertise to service, perform maintenance, and repair most:
- Direct expansion AC equipment
- Gas fired and electric heating systems
- Low voltage temperature control systems associated with HVAC equipment
- Air handling equipment and duct systems associated with commercial HVAC equipment
- Perform basic maintenance and repair to HVAC systems including changing air filters, cleaning condenser/evaporator coils, fans, and ductwork.
- Inspect and adjust fan shafts and belts; install wiring to connect components.
- Start systems, observe operations, read gauges and instruments, and adjust valves, controls, safeties, and pumps to regulate pressure, temperature, and fluid levels.
- Troubleshoot, replace, or adjust defective or worn parts to repair systems.
- Interact via cell phone with CSUSA National Accounts Group and third-party providers to check in/out of client sites and acquire NTE adjustments.
- Contact Service Office to obtain purchase orders for materials required for service calls.
- Inform dispatch of job statuses, check in and out daily, and receive next day’s service schedule.
- Accurately record time per service call.
- Be available for on-call shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain company vehicles and tools.
- Follow all company safety policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School or Trade School Graduate or GED.
- 2-year associate degree in HVAC preferred but not required.
- Holds a Universal Refrigerant Card.
- Holds appropriate state trade licenses and maintains required continuing education for multi-state service work.
- Driving record meets company requirements.
- Successful passing of pre-employment drug screening required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noises, and more within OSHA
standards when visiting jobsites. Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, wind,
and dust. May be expected to carry up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally, stand for long periods, walk
moderate-to-long distances, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue.
